Community Collaborations |
We truly believe that we can accomplish more together than we can alone. When businesses, non-profits, and institutions all work together, positive change and sustainability happen faster and more efficiently.
"Thank you" to all past and current collaboration partners.
Recent Collaborations
Housing & Utility Assistance Relief Fund
This collaborative effort started with several members of the Faulkner County Homeless Coalition seeking ways to prevent homelessness due to COVID-19. Bi-weekly conference calls produced a community-wide effort. United Way of Central Arkansas along with Arkansas Community Foundation Faulkner County, Bethlehem House, Central Arkansas Community Action Program (CAPCA), City of Hope Outreach, and Conway Ministry Center have pulled together their knowledge and resources to help keep families in their homes and the lights on.
A centralized application process and relief hotline were created so that families could have their needs processed more efficiently and to keep agencies from duplicating cases.
The agencies listed above worked together on a case by case basis to assist the families in need due to Covid-19.
COVID-19 Micro Grants
United Way of Central Arkansas along with our friends at the Arkansas Community Foundations of Faulkner County and Conway County, Central Arkansas Professional Surveying, Arvest & Centennial Banks pulled our resources together to offer $500 Micro Grants to area non-profits fighting the effects of COVID-19.
A grand total of $18,000 was awarded to 36 non-profits in our community.
EFSP Grants (Emergency Food & Shelter Program)
The Department of Homeland Security's EFSP grants are distributed in counties all across the country. The United Way of Central Arkansas along with a local board of community leaders administers the grants for Faulkner County. These grants go to Faulkner County non-profits that provide shelter, food, rental assistance, and utility assistance.
Non-Profit Workshop Series
We are so proud to be a part of the Non-Profit Workshop series hosted by the University of Central Arkansas. These workshops provide practical training, resources, and networking opportunities to area non-profit agencies.
Super Saturday VITA Free Tax Prep Event
Every year the University of Central Arkansas helps us kick off our VITA Free Tax Prep program for low-income families. They provide a beautiful space and tech support to set up a network of computers. This partnership allows our volunteers to completely prepare dozens of income tax returns in one single day and helps struggling families get tax refund dollars even faster.
